Please help GABBY
Gabby is my 3 year old daughter who earlier this year almost passed away due to a new diagnosis of seizures. The seizure was so bad that she went into septic shock and was put on a ventilator. The seizure also caused her Traumatic brain injury which caused her to lose the function of the left side of her body she is now able to walk again but she limps and still cannot fully use her left hand very well.
We then picked up our entire life and moved from california to texas in order to bring her to a hospital here that specializes in her rare brain disorders. She was just admitted about 2 weeks ago for some test and the doctors here concluded that her diagnosis in california was a little off and her new diagnosis is as follows; Neuronal migrational disorder, Colpocephaly, hemimegalyencaphaly, mesial temporal sclerosis, heteratopia, she also now has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and developmental delay. With all of this the doctor notified us that she shoould not be able to even walk or talk due to her brain abnormalities and the severity of them. He then proceeded to tell us that she will inevitably start having seizures so bad that they are going to have to remove the entire right side of her brain. this will stop the seizures but she may lose her vision and her ability to walk or talk ever again. so what do we do let her die from seizures or remove her brain with the possibility of severe losses of her body functions. My husband Rick and I are completely devastated and we need some emotional and financial support we are in this for the long haul but I am going to have to leave my job and attend full time to gabby and with my husband only working it is getting very difficult to stay afloat. Her medications are expensive her emergency epilepsy medication for 1 dose is 800. 00 and her monthly seizure medication is 145.00 a month her doctors appointments are expensive and so are all the therapy she gets for speech, physical and occupational therapy and they also cost not to mention keeping up with our own bills. We truly need help, so any thing will help.
